Update August 2017: Amendments to the Katunga Water Supply Protection Area (WSPA) Groundwater Management Plan by Minister for Water

In August 2017 the Minister for Water the Hon Lisa Neville signed off on amendments to the Katunga Water Supply Protection Area (WSPA) Groundwater Management Plan.

This means that the amended plan is now in action, and allocations can increase from 70 per cent to 100 per cent for all Katunga WSPA groundwater customers. The amended plan is in line with the Terms of Reference established by the Minister.

The Katunga WSPA Consultative Committee, appointed by the Minister in November 2015, carried out extensive consultation in the process of developing the amendments. The amendments relate to trading, the allocation method and groundwater salinity monitoring.

A consolidated plan incorporating the amendments is available to download.
